Sunday at the Pool 2008
June 30, 2008 – 4:05 pmHere we are again - Summer is here and our church is itching to get outdoors again! This year’s Sunday at the Pool is set to be bigger, louder, wetter and more God-honoring than ever before (these are not contradictory terms!).
If you’re looking for that added pinch of excitement, be sure to compete in the Cannonball Contest. We’re awarding prizes for Biggest Splash, Most Creative Jump, Greatest Geronimo and… we’ll come up with something!
Bring a friend - preferably someone who can’t possibly believe church folks know how to have fun; or someone who’s never sung a hymn in the deep end!

And in case you forgot about the fun we had last year, here’s a little Youtube Reminder:
Thanks to Mike O., last year’s SATP videographer, for the evidence!

Renovation of the Heart
March 10, 2008 – 12:48 pmA high school student reared in a Christian home turns to drugs and alcohol. A woman tries to stop criticizing others - for ten years. A father knows he needs more patience with his children, but his efforts seem in vain.
What do these people have in common? They are all in desperate need of further renovation of the heart, of transformation of the spirit.
This study lays a foundation for understanding the ruin and restoration of humanity by addressing common misunderstandings about our human nature and the discipleship process.
We’re learning how to be apprentices of Jesus - and learning how God’s work of transformation can work amazing miracles in our lives today.
This upcoming adult Bible study group requires a 13-week commitment, but is free to join.
Study is led by Captain John Van Cleef and includes free participants’ manuals with all pre-registrations.

Jesus Be My Valentine - Results Are In!
February 27, 2008 – 3:24 pm
| PROJECT DATE | February 17, 2008 |
| PROJECT LOCATION | The Salvation Army Kroc Church San Diego |
| PROJECT TITLE | Jesus Be My Valentine |
It started just like any other church service, but by the time it was over, everyone knew this Sunday was different. Something beautiful had happened that day, and everyone was blessed with a pleasant departure from the usual joy of worship.
We sang love songs. You know, like you might hear on the radio. Songs like “You Are So Beautiful.” We sang them to Jesus, the love of our church.
We enjoyed the company of guests: strangers, friends and family felt equally welcome to partake of something special.
And to top it off, we shared our Valentines. Poems, songs, testimonies, Scriptures and more: the sermon that Sunday was a creative fusion of so many different perspectives of the Savior.
Sometimes the best description comes from blending visions from every vantage point into one solid, incontrovertible 3-dimensional portrait - and what a beautiful portrait it is!
Here’s one of many:
