Inspiration
May 31, 2008 – 9:15 pmWe believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father through the intercession of the Son; the Spirit inspired the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, so that they provide the authority for Christian belief and conduct.

Like a musician blowing air from his lungs through an instrument, the Spirit of God blew inspiration into the hearts, minds, souls and spirits of men and women to tell us the story of God’s love.
The men and women were mostly strangers to one another, spread like seeds over a broad geographic range we call the Middle East.
Some of them were like the lyrical sounding tenor sax, telling the story of God’s love through poetry. Some of them were staccato sounding piccolos, piercing the silence with the word of God’s corrective prophecy. Some of them were herald trumpets, announcing the arrival of Jesus - Emmanuel - God with us. Each instrument unique. Each instrument appealing to a different listener.
Each instrument - each book and chapter - is part of the greater Symphony we call Scripture, inspired by the Holy Spirit and filled with air from God telling the same story: God loves you. God has promise-filled gifts for you. God has eternal living prepared for you.
Grace,
John Van Cleef, Captain
Corps Officer

Scenes from Church #18
May 31, 2008 – 8:36 pm
Scenes from Church #18 commemorates the Divine Service Sunday on May 18, 2008. Lt. Colonels Doug & Diane O’Brien, Divisional Commanders, helped recognize the hard work of the Kroc Church kids over the past few months as they memorized Scripture, studied lessons in good character and earned badges toward their respective Girl Guards, Sunbeams and Adventure Corps goals.
Note, of course, the beautiful blue First Place Ribbon in the center frame: the Kroc Church Bible Bowl “Team R” won the Divisional Bible Bowl Championship on Saturday, May 17. Next stop: Commissioning, where they vie for the Western Territory title. Great job, kids!

SUNBEAM MOTTO:
“Do Right.”
ADVENTURE CORPS MOTTO:
“Adventure with Christ.”
SUNBEAM PLEDGE:
I Promise that I will try: to love God, to be obedient, to be loving and kind to all, and to be true to the Sunbeam declaration.
ADVENTURE CORPS PLEDGE:
I promise to explore God’s Word and God’s world to find ways to serve him and help others; to develop and guard good habits so that I will grow as God desires; and to adventure into the world with the “good news” of Jesus Christ.
